1. A method for filling out a facial region of a subject comprising:
harvesting adipose tissue from a first anatomical region of the subject's body;
removing unwanted cellular debris from the adipose tissue;
removing soluble contaminants from the adipose tissue;
crosslinking the adipose tissue to form a crosslinked matrix; and
injecting a composition comprising the crosslinked matrix into the facial region.
2. A method according to claim 1 wherein said step of removing unwanted cellular debris comprises purifying the adipose tissue.
3. A method according to claim 2 wherein said step of removing soluble contaminants comprises dialyzing the purified adipose tissue.
4. A method according to claim 3 wherein said step of crosslinking the adipose tissue comprises treating the dialyzed adipose tissue with a crosslinking agent.
5. A method according to claim 4 wherein said crosslinking agent comprises glutaraldehyde.
6. A method according to claim 4 wherein said crosslinking agent comprises collagen.
7. A method according to claim 1 wherein said composition further comprises a physiologically acceptable carrier.
